Each and every child has the power to experience success within school and their personal lives. Every single parent, relative, teacher, tutor, and caregiver may play an important role in a child’s success.

As we have established in the past, it does take a village to raise a child. It takes a village that includes family, educators, and friends.

We all must learn how a child learns, how to train a child’s brain, and how to prepare them to learn as much as possible. Above all, we must learn how to connect with a child’s way of learning.

Currently, a “school year” is 180 days. Overall, a child does not spend much time in the classroom; however, a lot of time is spent outside of school.

In order to make the most of a child’s success, education must be pursued both inside the classroom and outside of the classroom.

Train the Brain

The very first method to connecting with a child’s way of learning is to ensure that you determine what type of learner that your child is so that you may learn the strategies for training their brain. Since no two brains are alike, no two children will learn in the same way.

Anatomically, our brains are similar; however, we each have our own cognitive “fingerprint”, so to speak. In order to connect with a child’s way of learning, we must determine if they are a visual learner, an auditory learner, or learn better in a kinesthetic way.

Once we have this information, we will be able to determine what types of strategies may be used to connect – intellectually – with children.

The Child’s Schema Cloud

The next way to connect with a child’s way of learning is to determine their schema cloud. This is a type of cognitive structure that a kid uses to organize that which they are exposed to within the world.

It impacts how a child views things, what they notice, as well as how they interpret those things that are around them. Not only does this impact the way that a child acts, but, it also impacts how they make decisions.

By using a child’s schema cloud, the “village” of parents, tutors, educators and other individuals may determine what needs to be done in order to successfully fill academic gaps.

It is a known fact that none of us are as smart as all of us. While it is true that we all have the ability to learn individually, it has been determined that a child learns better when they are part of a team. All humans excel when they are placed within a team. This environment – coupled with enhanced social experiences – help children accumulate knowledge, increase their skill levels, and retain the information which they are given.
